[Brawlhalla] Beginners Short Guide

This is a guide aimed towards the newer players in the game to tell them what things they should focus on to improve faster at the game.

Training

The first thing you need to know is that the training room is your friend, and somewhere a good player will spend a lot of time learning in. This is where you will practice your movement and learn combos. For movement I recommend getting used to moving around off stage, going under the stage from one side to the other, recovering from far away, on stage practicing your fast falling, and dodging in different directions so you are less predictable in your games. As far as learning combos and strings goes, for the lower ranks, I suggest simply learning the basic 2-3 hit combos and strings for your weapons. As you get higher in the ranks you will of course be able to learn more difficult combos and strings.

Replays

One of the best tools you have for improving, is any time you lose a match, rather than BM your opponent and blame your loss on something like spam or passive players, instead realize that if you lost, it is because you were doing something wrong and need to adjust your playstyle for the future. Every time you lose, you should go back and look at the replay and see what it was that caused you to lose the match wether that be poor spacing, positioning, or dodging the same way too often making you predictable. Also try and notice patterns in how your opponent was playing so that next time you face them, it will be easier for you to read what they are doing and counter them.

Watch high level streamers and pro players in tournaments

Kinda self explanatory. The more you watch high level players and study how they play, the better your play will get in the future. ProBrawlhalla is a great twitch stream that runs 24/7 and streams high level ranked matches that you can watch anytime. Link is https://www.twitch.tv/probrawlhalla
Of course tournaments are also good to watch as well.

Find good sparring partners

One of the best ways to learn is by fighting higher quality opponents. You might get beat a lot, but you can learn a lot from those losses. Especially if you then go back and watch the replays. Joining a good clan can also help in this area.

Never give up

When the going gets tough, just keep at it. Don't let a losing streak discourage you from playing. Keep on playing and eventually the last element for improvement will happen, which is time spent playing. The longer you play the game, obviously the better you will become at it. If you look at most of the top level players in the game, they have spent well over a thousand hours, some of them over two thousand hours in the game.
